Change how you sign off in Outlook

Microsoft recently upgraded users of its Outlook web service to the latest version. Now when you go to www.outlook.com and log into your Microsoft account, you’ll see the words Outlook Mail in the top left, which shows that you’re using the new version. If you’ve used Outlook.com in the past, you’ll find that it now does some things differently. Here we’ll show you the new way to create or edit your signature.

Click the cog-shaped icon at the top right of the screen and choose Options. Expand the Mail option on the left, then expand the Layout option at the bottom and click ‘Email signature’. On the right, you’ll see your current signature or, if you don’t have one yet, a blank pane. The tickboxes at the top let you add your signature to new messages and to messages you forward or reply to.

Type the signature you want, or edit your existing one. The icons at the top of the pane let you add images, change the font and format your text. To add a hyperlink to your signature, highlight the relevant text, click the dropdown menu at the top right and click the ‘Insert hyperlink’ icon (see screenshot). Click Save at the top when you’re done.
