Organise your life with Microsoft’s new note-taking app

-

Microsoft have released a new, free note-taking app, called To-do. It lets you create simple task lists, set reminders and keep on top of of everyday projects. Install and open the app (Android www. snipca.com24352; IOS www.snipca. com/24354), sign in using your Microsoft account, then tap Get Started.

Now tap the ‘+’ icon at the bottom right, then start typing the things you want to do. Each of these items appear in the main window. They are assigned a default To Do category. To create a list (for example, ‘to buy’ or ‘birthday party’) that you can add these items to, tap the three lines at the top left, tap ‘New list’ at the bottom right, then name your list.

You can now sort your items in two ways: by the lists you have created or by days when you need to have completed them by. To do this, tap and hold any item until you see three icons at the top right. The first lets you assign that item to a completion day. The second icon lets you sort that item by a list you’ve created. The third (bin) icon lets you delete the item.

When you open the app, you’ll see a list of any recent pending items, followed by upcoming ones. Tap the circular boxes to select the items you’ve completed (it will then display with a line through it – see screenshot left). Swipe left across an item to delete it from the list. To reorder items tap and hold one, then move it up or down. Tap any item to see options to add reminder notifications to it.
