Print a map of the night sky to identify stars and planets
I live in a remote village where I have a majestic view of the night sky on a clear night (no light pollution). I like to use the stargazing program Stellarium, but I needed a printed chart I could take with me to help me identify the stars and planets. I came upon the website Sky Maps ( www.snipca. com/24866), which is a treasure trove of useful stargazing information.
Its best feature is a downloadable PDF map of the night sky, which I have printed. The site has a new map every month, so you’re always up to date with all celestial events. It also lists what you can see with the naked eye, with binoculars or with a telescope. For the July sky map visit www.snipca.com/24867. Lee Travers
