Share all your photos quickly

-

Google has recently added a ‘Shared libraries’ feature to its Photos app, letting you share all the photos in your account quickly. It has two other options – sharing only photos of specific people and photos taken after a particular date.

To use this, open Google Photos (Android www.snipca.com/24890; IOS www.snipca.com/24891), tap the three lines at the top left, ‘Share your library’, then Get Started. Next, tap the person you’re sharing your photos with in your Google contacts list. You’ll now see the three options we mentioned earlier (see screenshot above). Select the one you want.

‘All photos’ grants access to your entire collection. If you select ‘Photos of specific people’, you’ll see faces of all the people in your photos (Google Photos uses facialrecognition technology to identify these). Tap to select them, then tap Done. Likewise, if you select ‘Only show photos since this day’, you’ll see a pop-up menu with sliders for the day, month and year. Set the date, then click OK.

To send the photos, tap ‘Send invitation’, then enter your device’s PIN code, password or pattern. The recipient will see a notification to view the photos you shared. Upon tapping this, they’ll see the option to sync your shared photos to their Google Photos library.
