Free up storage space on your Windows Phone

If your Windows Phone has a microsd card slot, it’s a good idea to make use of it. This lets you transfer your phone’s content to your card, and thereby free up valuable storage space on your device. To do this, first insert the SD card into your phone. Next, swipe down from the top of your device’s screen, tap All Settings, then tap Storage.

Here, you’ll see a breakdown of your phone and SD card storage in a graph. Below, you’ll see that new content you add (photos, videos, music and downloads) is saved to your device’s storage by default (see screenshot right). To change this, click the This Device dropdown menus and select your storage card.
