CAN YOUR PC TELL WHEN YOU’RE LYING?

-

Recent research carried out at the University of Padova in Italy suggests that it’s possible to tell whether a person is lying from the way they move their mouse. Researchers developed software that identified differences in mouse movements between people who answered questions honestly and those who didn’t. Dishonest responses tended to result in more hesitant mouse movement and were identified with 95 per cent accuracy. The technology could be developed to combat identity theft, fraud, online grooming and terrorism. But it also has the potential to erode your privacy even further, should your mouse movements be monitored and data about your behaviour collected. You can read more about the research at www.snipca.com/24825.
