Play photos as slideshows on TV

One of the best ways to use your Chromecast dongle ( www.snipca. com/24903) is to cast albums from your Google Photos, Facebook or Flickr account to your TV. Any photos within those accounts will then play (in random order) on your TV. To set this up, first ensure that your TV is on and switched to the HDMI input you use for your Chromecast.

Now open the Google Home app (Android www.snipca.com/24888; IOS www.snipca.com/24889), tap the icon at the top right, the three dots at the top right, then tap Backdrop Settings. You’ll see various options for content you can cast to your TV (see screenshot below). Here, tap the source of your photos (Google Photos, Facebook, Flickr, etc), log into that account when prompted, tap Connect, then move the slider at the top.

You’ll now see all the albums in your account. Tick to select the ones whose photos you want to cast to your TV (see screenshot above), then exit the app. From now on, photos from these albums will play automatically whenever you switch to your Chromecast’s HDMI input on your TV.
