Can C It I trade d i in my old ipad?

-

QI have an original Apple ipad, bought in 2012. I hardly use it now and wondered if there’s any scheme where I could trade my tablet for a new one. What are my rights if things go wrong with the new device? Vikram Talaulikar

ALegally, the old ipad would be treated as part-payment for a new device. This means that if Vikram is ever entitled to a refund for the new ipad, the retailer must include the trade-in price of the old device.

Vikram may struggle to get much money for his ipad because it’s so old. Apple offers gift cards only for the ipad 2 (which was launched in March 2011) and newer devices. To find out how much Apple will pay you, enter your IMEI or serial number at www. snipca.com/24926. To remove data from the ipad you’re trading in, follow Apple’s instructions at www. snipca.com/24927.

If, like Vikram, you have the original ipad, which went on saleale in May 2010 priced £429, Apple recommends returning it to onene of its stores for recycling. But you won’t receive any money for it. For more details, and to find your nearestt Apple store, visit the company’s website:site: www.apple.com/uk/recycling.

However, there are occasionallynally offers to trade in old ipads, such as one Currys ran between 7 June and 4 July ( www. snipca.com/24923). The store was offering between £18 and £25, depending on the ipad’s connection technologytechnology ((Wi-wi-fifi oror 3G) and storage. It was offering much more for newer ipads, such as £206 for a 128GB ipad Mini 4, and £91 for a fourthgeneration 16GB ipad.
