NEW RANSOMWARE HITS SCOTTISH HOSPITALS
An NHS board has been hit by ransomware a few months after Wannacry devastated computers nationwide. NHS Lanarkshire said the Bitpaymer ransomware infected its network on Friday 25 August, leading to some appointments and operations being cancelled. Staff worked over the bank holiday weekend to repair the damage, during which patients were asked to make hospital visits only if “essential”.
