ANDROID Disable Samsung’s virtual assistant on Galaxy S8 phones Games With Kids
What to play together on your phone and tablet
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus, you’ll see a button below the volume controls on the side. Pressing this activates the virtual assistant Bixby (Samsung’s equivalent of of Microsoft’s Cortana, Apple’s Siri and Google Now). It displays a screen with information including news, weather and local traffic updates.
There’s an easy way to disable the Bixby button if you don’t find it useful. Press it, then tap Update if you see a prompt to update it. Next, tap the slider at the top right to disable Bixby (see screenshot below). If you don’t see this slider, then tap the three dots at the top right, Settings, scroll down to ‘Bixby key’, tap to select it, then select ‘Don’t open anything’. tap the address bar at the bottom of the screen to get more information about that location, or tap the time icon on the right to get directions to it.
Tapping an email-address link opens a new email addressed to that person. Most other email apps already have this feature built-in by default.
