Omron Evolv All-in-one

-

This meter originally sold for £130, but now discounted to less than the price of the Nokia BPM+ (see below), it’s a more attractive purchase. As the name suggests, it comes in one piece, with no awkward tube connection. Unlike the BPM+, though, it includes a screen in the unit itself, with small but legible white LED digits on a black background. So although it supports a Bluetooth connection to the Omron Connect app, you don’t have to get your smartphone or tablet out every time you test. You can just use the meter by itself, and add your results to the app later by pressing the Sync button.

Up to 100 readings are stored on the unit, but only the most recent is displayed on the small screen, so you do need the app to get the most out of it. With the app, you can track your readings over time and share the data with Apple’s Health app or other medical apps. Two or more people can share the unit if they create separate Omron Connect accounts and sync their readings immediately every time, not an ideal arrangement. Like the Beurer BM 55 (below), the Evolv also detects arrythmia.
