Choose what happens when you close your laptop lid

-

If you have a Windows laptop then, by default, your PC switches to sleep mode whenever you close its lid or press its power button. There’s an easy way to change these actions so that they shut down your PC or switch it to hibernate mode instead.

First, right-click the battery icon at the bottom right of your PC, click Power Options, then ‘Choose what closing the lid does’ on the left. Using the dropdown menus, you can now select what happens when you close the lid, or press the power button (when your device is running on battery and when it’s plugged in – see screenshot above). Click ‘Save changes’ when you’ve finished.
