Stop others leeching your Wi-fi

In Issue 510, you featured a Workshop on how to see which devices are accessing your home Wi-fi network and block any devices that you don’t recognise (see ‘Block neighbours using your Wi-fi’ Workshop on page 42).

I found the app (Block Wi-fi Thief) extremely useful and told a friend about it. However, when he tried to install it, he got a page saying ‘the requested URL was not found’. It turns out Google had taken the app off the Play Store. Knowing it was not Computeractive’s fault, I found the app’s Facebook page and asked them what the problem was.

They replied saying the app is now available from the Play Store under a different name. It’s called ‘Block Wifi Freeloaders to increase internet speed’ ( www.snipca.com/25450). I reinstalled it and it works exactly as described in the Workshop. Just thought I’d let readers know that the app has been resurrected under a new name.
