Make Windows Better Take a screenshot of your lock screen

-

There are several ways you can take screenshots without installing non-microsoft programs. The easiest is to press the Print Screen (Prtsc) key, or the Windows key+print Screen (depending on your PC). Now open File Explorer to see your screenshot in the ‘Recent files’ section at the bottom.

A useful tool that’s often overlooked is the Snipping Tool. Go to the screen you want to take a screenshot of, press the Windows key, type snipping tool, then open it. Click New, then click and drag your mouse over the area of the screen you want to include. Next, press Ctrl+s then rename and save the file wherever you want.

You may need a screenshot of your lock screen (the login screen that requests your PC’S password) to get help for errors on it – for example, you may have a weather forecast for the wrong location. Alternatively, you may want to save one of Windows 10’s ever-changing lock screen wallpapers to your PC. Capturing your lock screen isn’t as straightforward because you can’t use the Snipping Tool or any third-party screenshot program (such as Picpick), but it can be done.

Press the Print Screen key, or the Windows key+print Screen. Now log into your PC, press the Windows key, then search for and open the Paint program. Next, press Ctrl+v to paste your lock screen screenshot into the program. Finally, press Ctrl+s, then rename and save the file wherever you want (see screenshot).
