Add dropdown menus to cells

-

If you often type the same terms in Excel spreadsheets (for example, months or days of the week), then it’s a good idea to create a dropdown menu that lets you select them quickly from a list. We’ll show you how to create a dropdown menu list for days of the week, but this method can be used to create whatever you need.

First you need to list the items you want in your dropdown menu. It’s a good idea to create this on a separate spreadsheet, so click Sheet 2 at the bottom left. Next, type the days of the week in a vertical column in cells A1 to A7, select these cells, click inside the field above row A, type Days then press Enter.

Next, select Sheet 1 at the bottom left. Type whatever data you want in cells A1 to A6 (see screenshot). Now click to select the range of cells in which you want to add your dropdown menus (B1 to B6 in our screenshot). Next, click Excel’s Data tab, then click the Data Validation button in the Data Tools section. In the menu that opens, set the Allow dropdown menu to List, type =Days in the Source field, then click OK (see screenshot).

From now on whenever you click in cells B1 to B6, you’ll see dropdown menus with the days of the week you entered in Sheet 2.

If problems with your network are preventing you from connecting to the internet, and nothing you do seems to help, the best solution might be to perform a network reset. This disconnects your network adapters (the hardware that lets you connect to the internet), resets all networking components to their default factory settings, and then reinstalls your adapters. It essentially wipes any changes you or external sources (like software or malware) might have made. To do this, open the Network & Internet settings page. At the bottom of the Status screen you’ll see a ‘Network reset’ link. Click this and then click the ‘Reset now’ button. Your PC will restart, and the network will be reset.
