Onedrive’s Android and IOS apps have recently been updated with new features that let you find items in your account with just a few taps.

Install and open the app (Android www.snipca.com/26799; IOS www. snipca.com/26800), then log in using your Microsoft account. You’ll be prompted to sign up for its Premium account service, which costs £5.99 per month, gives you 1TB of storage space (you get 5GB for free) and lets you use Microsoft Office on your PC. If you don’t want this, tap the top-left back button, then tap Stay Basic to stay on the free plan.

The updated app has five tabs at the bottom - Files (which it opens in by default), Photos, Recent, Shared and Me (see screenshot right). The Files tab lists all the folders in your Onedrive account. The A-Z dropdown menu (top left) lets you sort your items using various filters.

The icons at the top right let you see your files as a list or as thumbnails. Tap the three dots beside any folder or file to see options to share, move, delete, rename or save offline to your device. The blue ‘+’ icon lets you create a new folder.

The Photos tab (to the right of Files) displays all the photos and albums in your Onedrive account. You’ll also see the option to automatically upload photos you take to Onedrive. Tap ‘Turn On’ to activate this. The Recent tab lists items you’ve recently opened, while the Shared tab shows items you’ve shared with others, or others have shared with you. The final tab (Me) gives you an overview of storage space in your account and lets you access files you’ve saved to use offline. Google Duo is one of the best apps for making free video and audio calls using your Wi-fi network or mobile data. It recently added a new feature that lets Android users receive calls even if they don’t have the Duo app installed on their device.

Open the app (Android www.snipca. com/ 26801; iphone www.snipca. com/26802), then tap the video camera or phone icon to make a video or audio call. Next, scroll down to the ‘Search by name or number’ box, type the name of the person you want to call, then tap their name to make the call. If that person uses an Android device (whether they’ve installed the Google Duo app or not), they’ll see the option to answer the call. After the call ends, they’ll see the option to install Google Duo (if they don’t have it). At present, IOS users need to install the app to receive calls via Duo.

There’s an easy way to keep track of the time in cities around the world using Apple’s Clock app. Open the app (which comes pre-installed on IOS devices), then tap the World Clock tab at the bottom left. To see the time in other cities, tap the ‘+’ icon at the top right (see screenshot below), type the name of the city, then tap to select it.

You’ll see your chosen city marked on the world map along with its time. You’ll also see a photo thumbnail of the city, including its sunrise and sunset times at
