See apps offering free trials

-

Until now, the App Store has displayed two buttons to tap when you want to install apps – which display ‘Free’ or the app’s price. Many apps offer a free trial period after which you’ll be charged a subscription fee. With this in mind, Apple recently added a third button - Free Trial - for apps that offer this option.

Open the App Store, then tap the Apps tab at the bottom. You may see a ‘Try It For Free’ section that contains these free-trial apps. Alternatively, while browsing the App Store you may see a Free Trial button on certain apps, such as ‘1Password’. When you tap this (see screenshot), you’ll see a pop-up that tells you the length of the trial period and what you’ll pay after the trial, along with the option to install the app.

Similarly, you can keep track of your favourite teams by scrolling to the Favourite Teams section and clicking the purple ‘+’ tile (see screenshot above). Search for and add any teams you want. You’ll see their latest results. Click this to see earlier results and fixtures. Click any result to read a match report.

The icons on the left let you jump to a specific sport where you’ll see tabs for Results, Fixtures, Tables, and so on. The cog icon (Settings) at the bottom left lets you choose between a light and dark theme. The Breaking News Alerts slider is turned on by default, but you can turn it off if you prefer.

click sensitivity settings. Press the Windows key, type mouse properties, then press Enter (in Windows 10, click the ‘Additional mouse options’ link at the top right). In the window that opens, you’ll see a ‘Double-click speed’ section with a slider and folder (see screenshot below). Move the slider to set your double-click speed. You can test this by double-clicking the folder icon on the right. When you’re happy with your changes, click Apply, then OK. these is the option to make your PC read out any text on a web page. We found the default voice annoyingly robotic and a little too fast, but there are a range of voices and narration speeds to choose from.

Open the browser and highlight any text you want read out to you. Right-click the highlighted text, then click ‘Read aloud’. Next, click the person icon at the top right (see screenshot above). You’ll see the option to change the narration speed using a slider. Click the Voice dropdown menu to see six voice options you can choose from - three British and three American accents.
