Robot would help me to live independently
I read the News story in Issue 529 (page 9) about robots caring for the elderly. I am very much in favour of this great idea. There is one thing the trial is missing out on and that is people like me.
I live alone, have no friends or family nearby, and have a whole raft of annoying illnesses, including depression and loneliness. Having said that, I am 68 and a bit of a techie and would buy a robot for so many reasons, including reminders when to take medicine, of appointments, chores etc. There are many people who like me are trying to live independently with illness and would like to continue that independence until they ‘shut down’ or need to reboot.
