Create a photo invitation for a special occasion

-

Snapseed is one of our favourite free photoediting apps for phones and tablets. One of its best features lets you add text to a photo, which is a great way to create a simple invitation to an event.

Install and open the app (Android www.snipca.com/28129; IOS www.

snipca.com/28130), then tap the ‘+’ icon to add one of your recent photos. Alternatively, tap the three lines at the top left to upload photos from online storage services.

You’ll see a panel of photo filters at the bottom that you can swipe across and apply. Select the one you want, then tap the tick to add it. To add text to your photo, tap the Tools section at the bottom, then tap Text. You’ll see about 50 text options in a panel at the bottom that you can swipe across. Select the one you want, then double-tap it to type your text. Tap and drag this text to reposition it, pinch and zoom to change its size, and rotate it to position it at an angle of your choice.

You’ll now see three buttons at the bottom (see screenshot above). The first lets you change the text colour theme by swiping across the palette above. Using the middle icon, you can modify the level of text transparency with a slider, while the third icon lets you choose a different text style. Tap the tick icon to confirm your changes. When you’re happy with your invite, click Export at the top. You’ll now see options to share it using compatible apps or save it to your device.
