Use Cortana to answer your urgent questions

Ever need to get instant word definitions, solve calculations or find weather updates? Well, you can using Microsoft’s personal assistant Cortana without having to open the your Dictionary, Calculator and Weather apps. Simply type define [word] and you’ll see its Oxford Dictionary definition in a panel on the right (see screenshot right). Click the speaker icon to hear how it’s pronounced. You’ll also see related images.

Similarly, to make calculations, type 14578-949, for example, into the search bar. Alternatively, type what’s 17% of 357. You can also use this feature to get weather forecasts by typing what’s the weather in amsterdam or dublin weather tomorrow. Similarly, you can type time in madrid to see international times.
