How do I set the default font in Libreoffice?
QLike many of your readers I’ve made the switch to Libreoffice, as I didn’t want to keep paying for Microsoft’s program. I like it! One thing I can’t work out, though, is how to permanently change the font from Liberation Serif. I can change the font from the dropdown menu at the top of the editing window, but I have to do that every time I create a new document. How do I make a permanent change? Miriam Carter
AFirst, open the Tools menu and click Options (see top screenshot). Then, in the left-hand pane, click to expand the Libreoffice Writer section, and then click to select ‘Basic Fonts (Western)’ (see screenshot above). Next, in the right-hand pane, use the dropdown menus to set the default typefaces for the various styles. If it’s just the body text you’re concerned about, open the dropdown next to Default, pick the relevant font and then click OK.
