FILE TRANSFERS Send photos from PC to iphone without itunes

- Eric Page

Copying photos from your iphone to your PC is a breeze - simply use your Apple Lightning cable to connect both devices, then copy and paste the photos. Sadly, copying photos from your PC to your iphone is less straightforward. If, like me, you’re not a fan of itunes, you may find this alternative method useful. It works really well if you want to transfer a handful of photos quickly.

First, install the Onedrive app on your iphone ( www.snipca.com/28995) and your PC. It’s built into Windows 10, or you can download it from www. snipca.com/28996. Microsoft’s cloud storage service comes with 5GB of free storage space, which should be more than enough. Next, create a folder in Onedrive on your PC and add all the photos you want to transfer to your iphone. Right-click this folder, then click ‘Share a Onedrive link’ (see screenshot below). A message will appear in your PC’S notification area telling you that the link has been copied to your clipboard. Email this link to yourself.

On your iphone, open the email containing the link and wait until you can see all the photos in the Onedrive app. Tap the thumbnail of the first photo you want to download, then the share button (a box with an up arrow), followed by the download icon. You need to do this for each photo, but I managed to download 20 photos in less than two minutes, which is still a lot faster than using itunes.
