Is it safe to uninstall Nvidia software?
QMy computer runs Windows 10 Pro, and came with Nvidia Geforce Experience preinstalled. I recently got notification of a driver update, which I installed.
I now get an error message saying something went wrong, and to restart my computer. This I have done several times, but I still get the same error message. I don’t use my computer for gaming. Do you think it is safe to uninstall? If I did, what would be the consequences?
AYou certainly should not remove any drivers for your Nvidia graphics card, but we sense that you already know that Geforce Experience is not a driver. Rather, it’s a supporting tool that helps set up your specific card for specific games, as well as ensures that the card’s own drivers are up to date.
So yes, it’s quite safe to uninstall Geforce Experience and, as you don’t play games, its absence will not be noticeable to you.
However, we wouldn’t start from where you are now. By that, we mean your
Geforce Experience installation is currently not working correctly, so before uninstalling it we’d suggest downloading the latest version from www.snipca. com/32934 and installing afresh (see screenshot 1 ).
When that’s done, then you’re good to uninstall the tool. To do this in Windows 10, first click Start followed by the Settings cog. Now click Apps, then scroll to find Geforce Experience.
Click it, then click Uninstall, then confirm by clicking Uninstall again (see screenshot 2 ).
