Brother Ecopro – printer ink on demand, done right

-

If you’re wary of printer-ink subscriptions, that’s understandable. The terms and conditions can be confusing, and as we warned in Issue 676 (page 62), some manufacturers have recently been jacking up their monthly prices.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Having tried all the different subscription options, we can wholeheartedly recommend Brother Ecopro. It works with more than 50 Brother inkjet and laser printers – see the full list on Brother’s website (www.snipca. com/49685) – and ensures that you’ll always have the ink or toner you need, delivered to your door free of charge.

We know what you’re thinking: ‘I don’t print enough to need a subscription’. But even for light users, Brother Ecopro can be a smart investment. The basic plan lets you print up to 50 inkjet pages a month for £2.99, while for a mono laser it’s just £1.99 – and if you don’t use the whole allocation then you can roll over up to 100 pages from month to month. That means you’re covered for the odd occasion when you want to print a big document or a set of handouts.

Even if you go beyond your rollover pages, Brother Ecopro is great value. Additional prints are charged at a marketbeating 89p for every 10 pages, so you know you’re not being ripped off.

There are also plans for heavier users. The Occasional use plan costs £4.49 a month for inkjet printers or £2.99 for mono lasers, and covers 100 pages, with a 200-page rollover allowance. The Moderate and Everyday plans offer a monthly allowance of 300 and 500 pages respectively – enough for a small office.
