You know the Brothers Grimm, the famous storytellers? Brunhilda and Mitzi were the true brains behind the books but, thanks to a treacherous father, a nasty curse and a great big dollop of bad luck, you’ve probably never heard of them. Join them as they tell their twisted tales with comedy, singing and music. Pay what you decide; please book in advance and bring cash. James Dixon, outside St Endellion Hall, Thursday, May 30, 7.30pm, £10 (free for accompanied under-16s). James has a deep respect for the traditions of his instruments and music. Dancing between the past and the present, he rejects effects pedals and instead chooses from a quiver of instruments including a beloved cigar-box guitar. CENTENARY
It is the Recreation Ground’s centenary this year and we are planning an event on Sunday, August 4, to celebrate this. There will be a fête in the afternoon during which Lostwithiel Town Band will be providing the musical entertainment and there will be two live bands performing during the evening, Black Velvet, an Irish folk band, and The Good Old Fashioned Lover Boys, an extremely popular Queen tribute band. This will be a day for everyone to come along and join in the celebrations. Full details will be advertised once arrangements have been finalised but make a note in your diary or on your calendar to keep the day free.
