COMPUTER SAYS EAT

New ways to enjoy a byte

-

Not since the invention of microwave popcorn have we been so excited to hear ‘technology’ and ‘food’ uttered in the same breath. That’s because a whole host of restaurants are now incorporating computers and gaming into the dining experience. Japanese restaurant chain Inamo has installed futuristic tables that allow you to order your food on them, play games on them and eat off them. Meanwhile over at Alton Towers, its new Rollercoaster Restaurant sees your food delivered by, yes, a mini roller-coaster. Craving technology that makes it easier to split the bill with the person who didn’t drink any wine (and the one who drank it all)? Italian restaurant Vapiano has devices where you enter what each person wants and pay accordingly. Next up: a robot that can recreate our mum’s chicken soup when we’re ill.
