Official: colour coordination on your face is cool
1 RED ALERT STARE-AT SCALE: 3/3 The best thing about this bold all-red look, created by Lynsey Alexander, is there’s only one key product: MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Fashion Legacy (£17.50). Make sure skin is quenched first – moisture helps the colour blend into eyes and cheeks. Starting at the outside of the eye, use a stippling brush to buff the colour in circular motions to the top of the cheekbone and into the temple. For a softer look, use powder blush, and for an extra hit of ’70s glam, add lashings of clear lipgloss. Not required for a Tesco trip, but super cool, no?
2 MAUVE IT STARE-AT SCALE: 2/3 The Kardashians were a big influence for make-up artist Daniele Lorusso at Philipp Plein. Everything about this mauve-all-over is perfect, so spend time recreating it. Use warm bronzer with gold highlighter to sculpt the face, creamy mauve-hazelnut shadow on the eyelids (and along the waterline), and individual lashes for definition. Paint lips with a mauve matte liquid lipstick like Lime Crime Velvetines The Original in Faded (£15) and you’ll be ready to Snapchat yourself singing. 3 AU NATUREL STARE-AT SCALE: 1/3 At Missoni, head make-up artist Lisa Butler created a dewy look sculpted with gold tones – but it’s not as easy as it sounds. The base is minimal, with concealer applied only where needed. Liquid highlighter goes around the eyes, and eye gloss is brushed from the middle of the lid to the crease, followed by goldenbrown cream shadow – like NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pure Gold (£5) – applied up to the brows and under the eyes. Finally, use cream contour to sculpt, applying it to the apples of the cheeks then buffing it up and out towards the hairline using a flat brush. Butler finished with a slick of gloss on lips for that ‘I’ve just had two weeks in Barbados’ look.
