Keeping Up With The Kardashians first arrived on our screens at the height of the noughties reality-TV boom. It could so easily have been overlooked in 2007 as just another candid-camera reality series, but instead the show ran for 14 very successful years on E!, sparking the rise of one of TV’s most famous dynasties.

Which, we think you’ll agree, says a lot about the Kardashian family and their ability to understand – and often define – the zeitgeist. When the news broke that KUWTK would be coming to an end (sob) this year with series 20, which landed in March, matriarch Kris Jenner said that Khloé was the most torn-up about the decision. We recently caught up with Khloé, who admitted that she didn’t even expect the show to get past the first season.

“We were supposed to just be a filler show without a second season, so when we were filming [season one] we just didn’t really think anything of it. And I think that’s what made it so much fun. We’ve also had pretty much the same production crew throughout, so all of the memories and friendships created with them and my family over the years has been the best,” she told us.

Did you ever consider quitting the show?

Filming KUWTK was such an amazing experience and I’m so sad to see it come to an end. I wouldn’t say that I ever considered quitting, but after having [my daughter] True, I had to learn to balance my time more because she is the most important person. It was really just all about me learning to set more boundaries [and] manage my time, so I could still give her the attention she deserves.

I think, at this point, so many people know so much about me and everything occurring in my life that it’s difficult to overshare! There are definitely points in some situations where boundaries have to be set, but overall my life’s always been a pretty open book.

Are you and your sisters supportive of each other or competitive?

We all want each other to be successful and we all have our own businesses that have come so far, so I think it’s easy for us to be supportive of one another. It’s always so nice to see all my sisters’ accomplishments with everything they’re doing.

How do you manage negativity on social media?

I sometimes like to just take a break and disconnect because none of that actually matters in the real world. I know who I am, and my friends and family know who I am, what my intentions are, and my heart. I’m peaceful with that, so nothing else matters.

How do you handle trolls?

I try not to comment back. I want to welcome the positive energy, so instead I respond when people are positive and kind. Except some days I’ll be in a sassier mood and comment right back at the trolls!

Do you feel under pressure to be a role model?

I feel like I have a responsibility to True, as well as to fans, to be that person who sets a good example and someone they can look up to. It’s so rare to have the platform that I do, so I feel a responsibility to utilise it in a way that spreads positivity and sets good examples.

You have a very busy schedule – how do you fit in self-care?

Routines! I love to follow a routine because then I know I’m checking off all of the boxes each day. [Collagenblend range] Dose & Co fits seamlessly into my day, whether it’s a morning coffee or a scoop of protein in a post-workout smoothie.

How important is wellness to you?

I’m hugely passionate about health and wellness. I think it’s so important to take care of yourself from the inside out. Staying active and healthy is the best medicine for a happy mind and heart, so I try to do something every day that makes me feel good. Whether it’s a long walk with my mom or sisters, or an intense workout, I find it’s so helpful to my mental health to stay active. Now, more than ever, it’s important for each of us to take time to do the things that make our minds and bodies feel good.
