Develop skills and confidence under the guidance of industry experts at the Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts (CSVPA)

-

Are you the next Vivienne Westwood, Tracey Emin or Michaela Coel? Whatever your artistic passion, education can be the driver to long-term success.

With personalised, hands-on learning and staff at the top of their game, there’s no better place to kick-start your creative career than CSVPA. The dedicated art and design, drama and music school in the heart of Cambridge offers courses from foundation level through to postgraduate, all with an emphasis on developing industry-level skills to turn your dreams into a lasting profession.

The school’s illustrious teaching staff boast a wealth of industry experience and expertise, and include award-winning designer Holly Fulton, who’s head of fashion, and Carolyn Timson, the former vice president of design at Tommy Hilfiger, who’s a senior lecturer in fashion branding and creative communication.

Expect impressive guest lecturers bringing insider tips and fresh perspectives to the classroom, too. Most recently, milliner Noel Stewart, whose designs have been worn by celebrities including Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, and Lizzo, has been on hand to help students develop their own distinct style and impart his extensive knowledge, thanks to his work with leading fashion houses including Mulberry, Stella McCartney and Oscar de la Renta.

The school also has an exclusive partnership with Hearst, offering students the chance of a placement at one of its many magazines, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE and Esquire.

DREAM SCHEME

In September 2021, in partnership with Cosmopolitan, the CSVPA awarded an Access All Areas scholarship to Flynn Gaisie, a BA (Hons) Graphics & Illustration applicant.

‘The process was easy,’ says Flynn. ‘I submitted a portfolio and explained how the scholarship would help me. I was so happy when I got it!

‘My lecturers are all incredibly insightful; they’re happy to answer questions and share their industry experience, and they really encourage us to explore lots of different areas of our subject,’ he adds. ‘It’s such a supportive environment with an emphasis on developing a wide range of professional skills, which will really help once I’ve graduated.’
