It’s Zendaya’s world, we’re just living in it

The Hollywood star is about to be all over our screens again, thanks to Dune: Part Two and Challenger­s. But where did it all begin?

1. Shake It Up (2010 to 2013)

Her first taste of fame was starring as Rocky Blue in a Disney Channel sitcom, in which she and Bella Thorne played animal print-obsessed pals who navigate high school while dancing profession­ally on a TV show.

2. First single (2011)

So you didn’t know about her music career? Showing off her buckets of talent, Z’s first single release was a dance bop called Swag It Out.

3. Debut album (2013)

Zendaya’s self-titled debut album was packed with blissful, catchy pop, R&B and dance tracks. Replay, anyone? Still a banger.

4. Zapped (2014)

Her Disney Channel days continued, this time as

Zapped, where she downloads an app to help control her dog, but discovers it also controls the boys in her life.

5. K.C. Undercover (2015 to 2018)

In another tween TV series, she starred as KC Cooper, a perfect student by day and an undercover spy by night. 6. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Z made her big-screen debut when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe to portray MJ in SpiderMan: Homecoming, alongside her boyfriend-to-be, Tom Holland. 7. The Greatest Showman (2017)

Appearing with an all-star cast in this musical, she played trapeze artist Anne Wheeler, who falls in love with Zac Efron’s character, Phillip Carlyle.

8. Euphoria (2019)

Zendaya delivered an Emmy-winning performanc­e as teen drug addict Rue in the HBO series that became a sensation. She also lent her vocals to the haunting soundtrack, collaborat­ing with Labrinth. 9. Malcolm And Marie (2021)

Playing the titular Marie, the actor wowed audiences in this intense Netflix drama, in which she starred alongside John David Washington and also co-produced.

10. Dune (2021)

Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet in one film? Yes, please. She played Chani in the first instalment of the sci-fi epic and her role will be bigger in the eagerly anticipate­d sequel, which is in cinemas now.

11. Challenger­s (2024)

In this upcoming film (out on 26 April), Zendaya’s character stops playing tennis and takes up coaching following a careerdisr­upting injury. After training her husband to help him to the top of his career, a losing streak means he must face off against his ex-best friend and her ex-boyfriend. Here for the drama.
