Mark it out
A rustic butcher’s block helps break up the fitted lines in this classic painted kitchen. ‘The imposing end-grain maple chopping block is slightly raised above the worktop, which sets it apart as a distinct ‘zone’ in the kitchen,’ explains Richard Moore, Design Director, Martin Moore. ‘Willow baskets below provide breathable storage for fruit and vegetables. A bottom shelf also allows space for giant platters and trays.’ A separate plate rack adds extra storage and, together, both pieces create the look of a ‘deconstructed’ dresser unit.
