Pick up styling advice as well as artisan finds at this sleek boutique in hampshire

-

In the picturesque seaside village of Milford-on-sea, you’ll find No.64 Biscuit House. Having started life in 1677 as an abattoir, the building has hosted multiple businesses before being converted into an interiors boutique by stylist Clare Southcombe-holmes and her fiancé, Glenn, earlier this year. As well as selling Scandi-style homewares, from soft furnishings to ceramics, Clare also shares her interior styling experience in one-to-one consultations and chalk-painting workshops. She tells us more…

How would you describe No.64’s style?

My signature style is cool, calming schemes with a Scandi twist – a look I’ve tried to recreate in the shop. While neutral tones take centre stage, you’ll find complementing accent shades throughout, usually in the form of accessories, including handmade ceramics, luxurious textiles and candles. I aim to help customers achieve the look in their own homes with quirky display ideas.

what inspired you to open your shop?

I was born in the nearby village of Barton-on-sea and I always dreamt of opening a shop in Milford as it has such a vibrant community. When my father sadly passed away a few years ago, it gave me the push I needed to start the business as it was something he’d always wanted me to do.

why is Milford-on-sea so special?

It’s kept its historic charm, while still offering modern places to stay, eat and shop. It also has an annual music and food festival, Hurst Castle, a nature reserve and a beautiful beach.

what Makes your shop stand out?

As well as beautiful products, we offer so much to our customers, from interior styling consultations to Annie Sloan painting workshops held in our upstairs studio.

what do you Have for the New season?

Textured throws and cushions, vintage wooden stools, plus some rather lovely fur bean bags. With Christmas on the horizon, I’m already thinking about dressing the shop – twinkling fairy lights and snow in the window!
