Situated on Lymington’s Georgian high street, Willow Lifestyle has become a magnet for visitors to the town. Store owner Rob Burns and his team of stylists sell a curated collection of furniture and home accessories, and customers are encouraged to bring along photos of their homes to receive advice on what colours would work, or how to handle problem areas.

What inspired you to set up your shop?
A love of all things design, from amazing architecture to inspired interiors. My family has always been in retail, so it was a natural progression for me to open Willow Lifestyle in 2009.
how Would you describe your shop style?
Our location on the south coast, with the New Forest on our doorstep, has led to our particular spin on modern country, refined-rustic style. There is always a blend of texture and tone, natural colours and materials, and an awareness of trends without being trend led. The team like to cherry pick from many suppliers and brands and are skilled at putting together unique looks for customers to recreate in their own homes.
What makes your shop special?
The building is a quirky, characterful, listed property with a labyrinth of rooms and large floor-length windows. We have an in-house interior design studio run by award-winning senior designer Jean Urwin, and our location means we style many holiday homes, which has led to us working on our clients’ main homes further afield, too.
how is the shop laid out? It consists of three interconnecting buildings, perfect for styling inspirational spaces for different areas of the home. The ground floor focuses on the main living and dining areas, while the first floor houses bedroom merchandise.
What’s new For autumn?
British-made sofas in teal velvet and mustard flannel, with pieces arriving from the Netherlands, too. The store really comes into its own in the colder months, we can’t wait!
