Those who make Britain great
Top-notch Britons are the focus of a new book, Great Traits (£8.67, http://great traitsproject.com)—all proceeds go to Walking With The Wounded. Author Tobias Harwood was inspired by his childhood friend, Capt Guy Disney, who, in 2009, suffered a grenade attack in Afghanistan and, 18 months later, became the first leg amputee to reach the North Pole—his journey was broadcast on ITV’S Harry’s Heroes and he’s also the first amputee to be granted a jockey licence. Mr Harwood has devoted three years to interviewing the great and the good, from Olympic gold medallists to wounded former servicemen, including A. P. Mccoy and Royal Ballet Principal Lauren Cuthbertson. ‘This book is a backstage pass into the lives and stories of an extraordinary group of high achievers,’ says Mr Harwood. ‘The character traits revealed should act as an inspiration to us all.’
