Moving story
IGREATLY admire the achievements of the beautiful champion freerunner Katie Mcdonnell, who graced the Frontispiece on October 12, but found it poignant that this talented athlete was profiled on the same day that the obituary of Anne Pashley (left) (1935– 2016) was published in the national press. Anne, whom my late parents knew well, was an Olympic-medalwinning sprinter as well as being a most gifted opera singer. She performed at Sadler’s Wells, Glyndebourne and Aldeburgh, to great acclaim, with reviews appearing in the pages of COUNTRY LIFE—I wonder how many of your readers recall hearing her sing.
