My treasured heirloom
Ashley Hicks, designer
From my father [the decorator David Hicks], I inherited a group of portraits he completed in 1967, in a rather Andy Warhol moment, of a diverse group, including pop star Sandie Shaw, the King of Tonga and little me, aged four. I’ve hung them in my wife’s dressing room in the Albany on silver-foil geometric wallpaper of his design, where they give a hint of 1960s cool.
