From April 25 to 30, Hartnoll and Daughter of 37, Duke Street, St James’s, London SW1 (020–7839 3842; http:// julianhartnoll.com), is showing ‘Rescue Me’, an exhibition of dog paintings by Robert James Clarke, in support of the admirable charity All Dogs Matter —dog rescue and rehoming in London. Over the past few years, Mr Clarke has worked with several dog charities—the Wild at Heart Foundation, I Heart Whippets and Senior Sighthound Project as well as All Dogs Matter—and this show will consist of adoptees from these organisations. A percentage of sales will go to them.

‘The wide range of wonderful dogs available to adopt is astonishing, from chihuahuas to ridgeback/beagles and from mutts to labs,’ Mr Clarke says. ‘I try to evoke the wonder of these precious creatures in a simple way.’
