To mark Armed Forces Day, Hever is step­ping back in time to the 1940s with a replica air-raid shel­ter, a swing dance, a life-sized model Hur­ri­cane and Home Guard drills. Qual­ity is a hall­mark through­out—visit a group of al­lot­ments and a plant nurs­ery, in which rare trea­sures abound, as well as an as­sort­ment of vil­lage gar­dens and a dis­play in the me­dieval church.
