As good as new

MR HESKETH-HARVEY’S suggestion for a kitchen is spot on (Town & Country Notebook, October 4). Sitting here at a Mrs Patmore-style deal table, looking at our old, bare wood dresser, the downlighters, our green Aga centre stage, the 27-yearold cupboards topped with empty Champagne bottles marking great events and a large china hen (10p at the village fête), would I change it for a new one?
