Beaten to the punch

-

MY uncle, who is 93, has been living alone during lockdown. He stays in good humour, enjoys his subscription to your magazine and I take his shopping round for him. When I called today to check in and get his shopping list, he said he had some bad news. I immediately feared the worst, but it transpires that the undertaker with whom he had taken out a funeral package had died… he thinks it’s hilarious that he has been beaten to it! He has a great sense of humour and I learn many things from him during our conversations, which I cherish. I hope this may make it onto your pages. I know he would be highly delighted, as he would say. Roseanne Steedman, Northamptonshire
