Lord And Lady Somerleyton are

reinventing the British holiday park with arguably the most luxurious holiday cabins in the uk: Shedrooms. on their 250acre estate at Fritton Lake in norfolk, they’ve created something for ‘cash-rich, time-poor’ individuals who dream of owning a country bolthole (above and right) without the hassle of a second home. Seventy new properties are being developed and sold off-plan.

each £220,000 Shedroom has a 40ft southfacing decked terrace and comes with its own concierge service, delivering cocktails from Fritton Lake’s gastropub and stocking the fridge with estate produce before owners arrive.

Lodges range from one to five bedrooms, each with wood-fired hot tubs and wood-burning stoves. The south-facing Shedrooms are situated within broadleaf woodland and wildflower meadow and owners are given a pair of bicycles so they can ‘be car-free and unwind the healthy way’. When owners aren’t using their Shedrooms, the estate lets them out; shared ownership is also an option.

This new initiative is not a first for the estate: during the 1950s, Fritton Lake was one of the uk’s most popular holiday spots and Lord and Lady Somerleyton are hoping that this venture will, as well as reviving the estate, return the destination to its former glory.
