Egg Throwing Championships

This is thought to have originated in the 1300s when monks hurled eggs over the flooded River Eau in Lincolnshire to hungry farmers. Today, at Swaton’s Egg Throwing Championships, games include Russian roulette, where players take it in turns to smash boiled eggs on their head – hoping to avoid the raw one.
