HAND-PAINTED SHADE

Add an artistic touch to a rustic lampbase by decorating a linen or cotton tapered shade with acrylic paints. For a Bloomsbury-style design, as seen here, draw a design in pencil incorporating circles and paint in rich, earthy tones.
