WOODEN HEADBOARD
Use planks of reclaimed timber, such as old floorboards, to create a focal point in a country bedroom. Cut them to size (sanding rough areas and edges first and removing any nails) and nail to a sheet of plywood the size of the headboard you want to create. If you don’t have any long enough, cut and stagger them. Experiment before committing to a design – the boards could run vertically rather than horizontally, or you could use parquet flooring. Find similar planks from reclamation yards and lassco.co.uk.
