Small independent carpet retailers offer choice, quality and service
Britain has long been a nation of shopkeepers – nearly a million shops filled bustling Victorian high streets. For many large retailers, 2018 is proving to be a year to forget – but specialists and artisans are thriving. Local independent retailers are often the lifeblood of communities and, of course, they are all different.
This applies to independent carpet shops, too. The Carpet Foundation has 450 independent retailers nationwide, selling quality carpets to suit all budgets. Most are small or family owned – many have been in operation for generations, offering good old-fashioned personal service from people who are genuinely knowledgeable.
All Carpet Foundation retailers operate under a Consumer Code of Practice, approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, which guarantees a high level of service. They are the only carpet retailers in Britain allowed to follow this Code of Practice and are monitored to ensure compliance.
