A Medieval Pilgrim
Fife was known as Scotland’s ‘Pilgrim Kingdom’ in medieval times and the recently opened Fife Pilgrim Way gives walkers the chance to follow in their pious footsteps. The new 70-mile route starts at Culross Abbey and takes in major religious landmarks such as the Inverkeithing Hospitium (one of Scotland’s best examples of a friary building), Dunfermline Abbey and Markinch Church. The trail finishes with a clerical crescendo at the cathedral in St Andrews. www.tiny.cc/fifecoast
