Breakbar III

-

RRP: £30 Target price: £15 If you want superb performance from a technical base layer and don’t want to spend an exorbitant amount for a T-shirt, the Breakbar III is a great buy – more so if you can buy it for a discounted price. This synthetic top is tailored in Regatta’s sweat-wicking Isovent fabric, with extrabreathable honeycomb meshing across the shoulders and under the armpits, providing ventilation to these especially sweaty areas. And being a quarter-zip T-shirt, you can open it up if you fancy baring some chest to reap the full benefit of a refreshing breeze. A flap prevents the zip from rubbing and scratching against your chest. The shirt’s loose fit felt great on the go, while the polyester weave stretched a bit to allow for easy, un-chafed movement. However, a downside of this synthetic base layer is the lack of any antimicrobial treatment to reduce odour build up; so if you’re looking to extend its wear over a few days, it could soon become unpleasantly pongy. Spending more could get you a naturally odourresistant merino or microbe-proofed top, but otherwise the Breakbar III is still excellent value for money. PT
