RRP: £40 Target price: £40 Columbia’s innovative Titan Ice tee raises the game in base layer brilliance. What might look like just an ordinary T-shirt, actually has some pretty cool technology woven into its fibres. So cool in fact, that Columbia have christened their innovation ‘Omni-Freeze Zero’. As the name suggests, a sweat-activated cooling agent located in tiny rings ‘super cools’ the fabric and accelerates the wicking process to rapidly move warm moisture away from your skin. It’s an impressive trait to tout and I can testify it’s not just a gimmick either – it really worked! The cooling effect proved especially noticeable in hot and sticky conditions, giving the pleasant sensation of cool material against my skin. Coupled with Columbia’s Omni-Wick technology (you’ll see the ‘omni’ prefix across their range), the Titan Ice tee stays cool and dry when you’re hot and sweaty. The shirt also features breathable mesh patches to provide extra ventilation where a rucksack rests on your shoulders.
