THE SEQUEL

-

A ‘sequel’ to the West Highland Way emerged in 2007 courtesy of writer Kevin Langan. The 78-mile East Highland Way starts where the West leaves off at Fort William, then traverses directly east through Glen Spean and Strath Mashie, passing Moy, Laggan and Kingussie along the flanks of the Monadhliath mountains, before depositing you in Aviemore at the foot of the Cairngorms. Here it links to the Speyside Way, creating a chain of three trails which takes the walker from Glasgow right up to the Moray Firth.

The East Highland Way, by Kevin Langan, is available from Luath Press, priced £10. www.luath.co.uk
