Hedged bets
This month I drove to East Prawle for a walk at the southernest tip of Devon. On the way down, I relied on satnav and spent 40 minutes crawling among high-hedged Devonian lanes, my poor little car being savaged by brambly Triffids, and reversing with every head-on tractor interface. On the way back, I worked it out on the road atlas. Took me 44 minutes – and only nine of them were spent in the labyrinth. #BadBadSatNav
